4 Years on after a Tough Decision

4 Years on after a Tough Decision

Ito chan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) by her regular vet. Mum decided to turn to Dr. KK for advice. After a long discussion, Dr.KK strongly suggested that amputation of Ito’s leg would be the best option, as the cancer was causing her severe pain. Although it was a very difficult decision, Mum and Dad agreed in hopes that removing the pain would increase Ito’s quality of life.

One week before her big surgery, Ito started taking herbal medicines to boost her immune system and keep her strong for the long general anaesthetic. According to mum and dad the herbs also boosted Ito’s energy level!

Ito’s parents were very worried about the surgery due to Ito’s old age and other health complications (Chest X-rays shows some lung metastasis), but the surgery was a big success and Ito recovered extremely well from the anaesthetic.

Pictured is Ito chan now. She has been coping very well with her three legs, and has plenty of energy to play with her fur friend Sora.

Keep smiling Ito! Bella (Osteosarcoma dog living happily 5 years post amputation) and Gus (Osteosarcoma dog also still living over 4 years after amputation) will be your mentors.

We can do this together!!! xxox
