Charlie

My 12-year-old dachshund cross one evening last August became very lethargic and shaking. I wasn’t sure what to do I knew he wasn’t right but thought maybe he was just tired and cold so I put him to bed with me where he lay very close all night. The next morning he had less energy and was very sad I thought I was going to lose him. As KK is 3 hours away I rushed him to our local vet where blood tests confirmed extremely elevated ALT’s and a fever indicating his body was fighting infection. He was put on IV fluids, a couple of very strong antibiotics and pain killers and stayed in overnight. The vet said the next 24 hrs were touch and go.

The next day there was enough improvement to send him home with a lot of medication. I kept KK up to date with Charlie’s condition she was very concerned especially after reviewing his blood results. As soon as he was well enough to travel we headed to the coast to see her. The Western medication affected him poorly his energy was still very low, and he was very sad. KK examined him and said he was still very sick. She treated him with acupuncture and provided special Chinese herbal medicines.

Follow up blood tests one month later revealed his ALT’s and other indicators were back to normal limits. Charlie continues to take his herbal medicine with his special diet, if not for KK I don’t believe he would have recovered. Charlie loves to visit KK and always gives her a big kiss, he is so relaxed with her. We are planning a trip soon for some more energy boosting acupuncture. I thoroughly recommend KK and trust my fur babies to her care.
