Is Your Dog Constantly Scratching, Licking or Itchy?

Maybe they're licking or chewing their paws every day.

Their skin is becoming red, irritated or sensitive.

Those ear problems keep coming back.

Or perhaps the scratching seems to flare up at certain times of the year.

If itching, licking or recurring skin problems are starting to affect your fluffy's comfort and quality of life, there may be more to look at than just the itchy spot.

Does This Sound Like Your Fluffy?

  • Constant scratching or itching

  • Licking or chewing their paws

  • Red, irritated or sensitive skin

  • Recurring ear problems

  • Rubbing their face or body

  • Hot spots that keep returning

  • Skin problems that seem worse at certain times of year

  • Changes in their coat or skin

  • Difficulty settling or sleeping because they're itchy

Sometimes itchy skin isn't just about the skin.

Looking at the whole fluffy can help us understand what else may be going on.

A Different Way of Looking at Itchy Skin

At KIBO, we don't look at itchy skin as simply a skin problem.

The KIBO Holistic Vet Team looks at the whole fluffy — their health history, skin, digestion, diet, lifestyle and environment, alongside their individual TCVM pattern.

From there, we create a treatment plan specifically for them.

Veterinary Acupuncture
Selected acupuncture points may be used as part of the individual plan when addressing your fluffy’s skin, itching and underlying TCVM pattern.

Tui Na & MPS Therapy
Gentle hands-on techniques may be incorporated where appropriate, particularly when skin sensitivity, tension or other physical patterns are present alongside the itching.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
Herbal formulas are individually selected according to the type of itching, skin changes and other signs your fluffy may be showing.

Food Therapy
We look closely at what your fluffy is eating, their digestion and their skin pattern, then recommend foods suited to their individual TCVM needs.

Every fluffy is different — their treatment should be too.

REAL FLUFFIES. REAL STORIES. 🐾

MEET FUJI

Fuji is our 8 year old female staffy. She has had on going problems of skin condition, ear & eye infections, and genetic knee problems … we discovered this soon after we brought her home when she was 3month old.’

“I was impressed soon after meeting Dr.KK, because her approach was very different, not just focussing on Fuji’s skin appearance, she tried to find the causes of the issues holistically. Dr.KK warned me it would probably take a long time but she was so confident she could cure Fuji’s skin condition.’

Yes, that was true, the holistic approach worked!.”

Meet Ace - What a journey 🐾

“Ace had hotspots which made his skin enflamed and very itchy. He would scratch and scratch until he bled.”.

“That Vet was KK’s Holistic Veterinarian services who started treating Ace with diet and massage. KK set us up with a fantastic diet and in no time Ace was loosing weight, feeling energetic, but most of all no more hot spots.

What Happens at Your First Visit?

Your first consultation isn't a rushed appointment.

We take the time to understand what's happening with your fluffy's skin and what may be contributing to their itching, licking or recurring skin problems.

1. We Listen

We go through their skin history, when the itching started, previous treatments, medications, diet, digestion, lifestyle and any patterns or changes you've noticed.

2. We Assess

The KIBO Holistic Vet Team carries out a veterinary and TCVM assessment, looking at your fluffy's skin and coat as well as their overall health and individual TCVM pattern..

3. We Create their Plan

Depending on what we find, their personalised care may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, Tui Na or MPS Therapy.

4. We Guide You From There

You'll understand what we recommend, why we're recommending it and what the next steps are.

No two fluffies are the same. Neither are their treatment plans.

They Can’t Tell Us Why They’re Itchy

But Their Skin Can Tell Us Something Isn’t Right.

If they’re scratching day and night…

If they’re constantly licking or chewing their paws…

Or if their red skin, sore ears or itching just keeps coming back…

It’s worth looking deeper to understand what may be contributing and how we may be able to support them.
